The Lion Sports Club, Richlands

Client: Lions Richlands
Lambert & Rehbein were engaged to provide civil and structural engineering services for the re-development of The Lion Sports Club, involving a major refurbishment of the clubs restaurant, cafe and lounge spaces, and the addition of a new grand entry, multi level carpark, sports bar and restaurant terraces.
The existing entry and associated areas were demolished and renovated to create a lavish new foyer space and external set down area, centred around a large water feature topped with a cast bronze lion statue. This in addition to the feature precast concrete wall inlaid with LED’s and a large porte cochere creates an impressive patron experience upon arrival at the venue. The new sports bar features a virtual ‘sports stadium’ with plush tiered seating embracing an enormous 13 metre wide sports screen capable of showing 9 different live events simultaneously. The new restaurant and adjoining terrace were designed to take full advantage of the view north over the main sports field whilst creating a modern, light filled and voluminous interior.
