Pitt Town Road Bridges Replacement
Client: The Hills Shire Council
Lambert & Rehbein are currently undertaking the design of the replacement of two existing timber bridges over Cattai Creek and Cataract Creek at Pitt Town Road, Maraylya for The Hills Shire Council. The new bridges are proposed to be single span concrete bridges of approximately 19m and 10m respectively and are to provide for an approximate deck width of 13m to allow for two traffic lanes, a 2.5m wide bicycle lane and appropriate shoulders and barriers. Works include the hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of the respective creeks to determine relevant flood levels and velocities for input into the design, approximately 300m of approach road design for each bridge, liaison with utility authorities, and structural design. A concept design report has been prepared detailing the constraints and identifying various options for the makeup of the bridge structure including the use of precast elements to expedite construction timing as much as possible. Final designs are now progressing based on the preferred options selected by Council.
